What is Canada Games House?

Canada Games House is a private venue for friends, families, athletes, and VIP guests to celebrate, gather, watch and relax during the Canada Games.

What happens at Canada Games House?

There are three unique spaces within Canada Games House; Memorial Hall for casual fun & games plus live streaming, a studio for large team events and a lounge for smaller private team gatherings.  Memorial Hall features four zones with various activities - Chill, Live Streaming, Gaming and Celebration.

Who can go to Canada Games House?

One can gain access to Canada Games House via Games Accreditation, presenting the 'Friends & Family Pass' as distributed in advance to all athletes via email and, in some cases, at the door via the Canada Games website 'Find An Athlete' feature.

Is it free to enter Canada Games House?

With the proper credentials noted above, entry to Canada Games House is free.

Will there be food?

Limited and complimentary pre-packaged snacks are available throughout the day. There will be some special food sampling on programmed Theme Days. Otherwise, there are many local downtown restaurants in close proximity if you are looking for a more substantial meal.

Will there be beverages?

Yes, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase within Memorial Hall.

Can I bring my own food and drink into the venue?

No, please consume your items before entering the venue, or pack it away until after you leave.

Is it an indoor or outdoor space?

This is an indoor space within the Confederation Centre of the Arts building.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes, Confederation Centre of the Arts is wheelchair accessible via the Queen Street entrance and the Richmond Street entrance as well as via the pedway from Confederation Court Mall. Accessible washrooms are also available onsite.

Are there any age restrictions for entry?

No, there are no age restrictions for entry.

Are there any scheduled events or programming?

Yes, beyond daily live streaming of Canada Games sporting events and casual games, there are Provincial and Territorial Theme Days, scheduled alumni visits and gold medal celebrations on each Friday of the Canada Games.

Is there parking?

There are three parking garages located within walking distance of the venue: 100 Pownal Street, 222 Queen Street and corner of Fitzroy and Prince Streets. Two-hour metered parking is also available throughout downtown Charlottetown.

Are there any organized shuttles from Athletes Village to Canada Games House?

Canada Games transportation can be accessed to visit Canada Games House.

Is there a dress code?

No, come to relax and be comfortable. Those attending private events might receive additional dress code communication but that is the exception.

Is there a private room to keep my bags or gear while visiting?

No, please ensure you keep your possessions with you at all times.

Will special guests be in attendance?

Yes, follow us on social media @canadagames and @2023.canadagames for those announcements.

Will there be photography?

Yes. We will be taking photos and/or videos to promote the PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games across our social media platforms. By entering this private area, you consent to photography and video recording and its/their release to be used for social media and promotional purposes. If you prefer to stay in the background, please speak to one of our staff members or the photographer/videographer. We will make every effort to comply with your wishes.

Are there COVID protocols in place?

PEI no longer requires proof of vaccination to enter the province or to access business, organizations and events. Organizers will continue to monitor and receive guidance from the PEI Chief Public Health Office. We respect all who choose to wear or not wear a mask during their visit.

Is there staff on-site to support?

The venue is owned and operated by CCOA. Canada Games House is managed by Volume 18, a local strategic communications marketing agency, with support from Volunteers, Canada Games Council staff and the PEI 2023 Host Society.
