About Karate

From far and wide, Canadians will get to experience one of the newest sports added to the Olympics and Canada Games.

An ancient discipline with brand new roots in the Olympic movement, karate makes its Olympic debut at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Karate has however been featured on the Pan American Games program since 1995.


Karate will also be making its debut on the Canada Games program at the 2023 Games in PEI.

Canada Games Multi Sport Dome at Credit Union Place

A legacy project for PEI’s 2023 Canada Winter Games, the City of Summerside constructing an indoor artificial turf dome on the grounds adjacent to the Credit Union Place. The indoor facility will act as host venue for boxing, fencing and table tennis events during the Games.
