10 Spirit Day Ideas Worthy of a Medal

On behalf of the 2023 Canada Winter Games Host Society, we would like to thank all Islanders and friends of the Games who participated in our 2023 Canada Games Spirit Day on February 17th!

Islanders from tip-to-tip and the sport community from across the country showcased their excitement for the 2023 Canada Winter Games by wearing and decorating their communities in green and blue.

Local businesses, families, and schools got creative with how they chose to participate - here’s a list of 10 spirit day ideas that deserve a gold medal:

1. Logan Richard and local musicians

Logan Richard and local musicians shared their 2023 Canada Games Spirit through music.

2. ALC

ALC got creative with a Tik Tok trend to show off their 2023 Canada Winter Games merchandise.

3. Amanda and Kate Muirhead  

Amanda Muirhead from the Great Canadian Baking Show and her daughter Kate baked over 300 cupcakes to give to partners of the 2023 Canada Winter Games.

4. ADL

ADL had some fun with their 2023 Canada Games spirit and stacked milk crates to spell out “2023”.

5. City of Charlottetown Winter Projection Show

The City of Charlottetown in partnership with the Confederation Centre of the Arts, hosted a winter themed projection show that featured the 2023 Canada Winter Games.

6. Anne of Green Gables Chocolates

Anne of Green Gables Chocolates gave away free chocolates to Islanders wearing green and blue.

7. 1991’ vintage volunteer jacket in front of the bridge

Wendy Rush’s dad celebrated Spirit Day at the Confederation Bridge while sporting his vintage 1991’ Canada Games jacket.

8. Sport PEI

Lynn Boudreau at Sport PEI encouraged past Games participants to stop into their office and sign their Canada Games logo wall.

9. Jackson Gillis

Five year-old Jackson went tubing at one of the official venues, Mark Arendz Nordic Site Ski Park at Brookvale, to showcase his 2023 Canada Games Spirit.

10. Canada Games Alumni

Sami-Jo Sentner and other Canada Games Alumni started their own social media trend by posting photos of themselves at previous Canada Games.

2023 Canada Games Spirit Day Contest Winners

Participants were encouraged to share photos of their 2023 Canada Games spirit on social media for a chance to win one of five $250 Canada Games gift cards, or the grand prize opportunity to become an official torchbearer in our upcoming Torch Relay.
