Anyone who’s ever visited our Island knows that we love to host. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome the 2023 Canada Winter Games to Prince Edward Island, on the traditional and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.
From February 18 to March 5, we’ll bring together more than 3,600 participants to celebrate the very best in Canadian sport. This will be the third time our island has opened its heart to Canadian athletes, but it feels just as special as our first games back in 1991.
We will deliver a top of the podium, world class event, welcoming our nation in an authentic Island way. Across the province, we will create life-shaping Games’ experiences through accessible and inclusive spaces.
We will inspire and celebrate the realization of great potential, transforming our youth, our community, and our nation to be ever stronger.
The Platinum Rule
We are a true team. A collection of passionate Islanders united through sport and dedicated to delivering a Canada Games that will make the nation proud.
From far and wide, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to thrive in an environment free of all forms of maltreatment. That’s why the Canada Games is one of the most accessible athletic events in the world.
We are all Canadian. That’s why we embrace athletes from far and wide irrespective of race, place of origin, ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or disability.
Anti-Racism & Anti-Discrimination Policy
Sport is transformative. We believe that the 2023 Winter Games can spark a positive change. That’s why we’re implementing a comprehensive Sustainability Plan to leave a lasting impact both here in PEI and communities across Canada.
The 2023 Canada Games is about more than the athletes on our field or the fans in our stands. It’s about our entire province. The Catch the Spirit program will spark greatness across our Island, encouraging people in our classrooms and communities to become a part of the Canada Games movement.
