The Games

Surrounded by ocean, beauty and spirit, we’ll celebrate the power of sport and share PEI with every corner of the country. In 2023, we’re all Islanders.

As a province known for its hospitality, we’re excited to welcome the 2023 Canada Winter Games to Prince Edward Island. From February 18 to March 5, the Games will bring together 3,600 athletes, managers and coaches, across 20 different sports, for the largest multi-sport event in the country.

We’re looking forward to celebrating the very best in Canadian sports and sharing our unique Island spirit with the entire nation. Together, we’ll spark greatness and send waves out from every shore. From athletes and coaches to volunteers and fans, the 2023 Games will make every Canadian an Islander.

Mascot

Mascot Design Challenge

Congratulations to our Mascot Design Challenge winner,
Myla Doucette, a Grade 3 student from Gulf Shore Consolidated school in North Rustico!

With the help of her classmates and teachers, we were able to surprise Myla with the news and present her with a Canada Games prize pack while her classmates cheered her on.

Check out the amazing moment she found out here.

The mascot’s name and overall design are “top secret” for now, and will be officially unveiled at our special 500-Days out celebration taking place in early October.

Thank you to the over 1200+ students who submitted their mascot designs!

We appreciate your enthusiasm and the creativity in your submissions. A big thank you to the parents and teachers for their support in making this possible!
